we are at kiza triangle just west of the stadium. what we noticed is a lot of people don't even know this is part of golden gate park. but it indeed is part of the park and is where the project is located. the next slide is showing an aerial of the triangle. you can see some of the issues immediately in the triangle. there, there are two pads that are beaten in through what is dedicated as a meadow in the park master plan. what really is happening is people are working at u.c. medical center parking -- parking going back and forth to move their cars so they don't get tickets. so, they're beating these into the park over the years. the next slide is showing those pads and the character, the erosion that's happened in the park. there is a lack of accessibility through the park. so, this became one of the goals of our plan was to establish an accessible pathway through. another issue that is clear when you visit this area is that it's somewhat -- you can see on the top right slide, looks kind of like a used parking lot. cars facing imme

we're the fiscal sponsor for the friends of kesar triangle. it's a real privilege to be working with this group on this very interesting project that brings kind of a special treatment to this area of golden gate park at kesar triangle. we're really excited about this project because of the great vision that it has to bring some artistic elements and the connection with eco logic design into the park. we feel it is an opportunity to make it a special place and possibly is a model we can use in other parks around the city as well. the great thing is it also builds on activation events that the group has already been doing. we've been able to have some events where we're out in the park enjoying music, blowing bubbles, and the usability of the space will also be greatly increased by improving the turf area and the buffering some of the high traffic areas nearby as well as from the parked cars that are there on lincoln. another great thing about this project is it's being privately funded so, there's not actually any public resources that need to

and it was kesar triangle that really took my heart. so, there was something about it, it's kind of under loved and a little scrappy, didn't seem to interrupt any activities that were going on. what i really love was that you could not only experience maybe something artful on the ground, but it is as well when you drive by, maybe there was some way you could catch people's imagination. ~ as well when you're up in csf looking down there is an aerial view from [speaker not understood] hill. and i love that. fortunately, i met sam bower. he's been invaluable. together we saw this whole little park should be treated as art, and we have, you know, seen that it needs to be healed and kind of brought back to life. and, so, i hope that this project can in some way be an example or a precedent that other people could, you know, who are park lovers and donors, that they could focus on one spot and the thought they could partner with rec and park and bring it to its most beautiful possibilities. so, thank you. >> thank you. >> sam. >>> hello, tha

if it was a second phase, it would have the stripes with kind of box designs, without the triangles. it was probably done in western new mexico or eastern arizona. it's navajo. this blanket was probably woven in the 1870s. uh-huh. the blue here is indigo from the plant. right. the white is the natural color of the yarn. the brown is the same. now, the interesting yarn is this red, and all of us at the table feel like that this is probably made from cochineal. now, cochi beetles... you know what a prickly pear cactus is? yes. well, in the southwest, it looks like a growth on it that's sort of a fuzzy white look, and you pull that off the cactus and squeeze it, and there's a little beetle in there, and it looks like that when it's smashed. it turns this deep reddish-purple color. oh... now, we can't be sure that that's what it is, but we strongly think it is. it would take some tests to determine that. this green may be another plant called rabbitbrush. oh. that grows in the southwest. now, this is in pretty rough shape. originally, it didn't have all this fringe down the edge. it was
