we're going something in the tribune tomorrow and our blog regarding the drought monitor.e've been dry. we've had a half inch of rain all month which is like a quarter of all we had last october and less than normal. those were lake effect clouds today but they never bubbled up into race producers which was nice. they just made the sky interesting. and they accompanied these temperatures in most areas as you can see there. look what's going on out to the west of us. though the folks out in western kansas, western nebraska have the benefit of being closer to the front range of the rockies where it is sinking and compressing and warming, by the time it gets here we don't have that compression. but we will see 30 mile-per- hour afternoon indagations that will build into the area. tonight couldn't be more difficult. 53 at midway. 46 at joliet. this is dry air so it cools fast. the beautiful fall colors as evidenced at the lanton school today. and look at the rains that hit with the storm that hit the new england state. laconia, new hampshire over 4 inches. and this wind gusts.
