good evening, i'm tricia macke. i just got off the phone with chief anthony dwyer from the butler county sheriff's office who gave us new details about what exactly happened. he tells us james hancock got the gun from a relative on saturday. and the morning of the shooting.. he told two students that he had a gun... even showing his loaded gun, to one student just before the shooting. then dwyer tells us as hancock got up from a round table.. after the resource officer left the cafeteria.. and ran toward the door... and started at one of those tables. as we know the two people shot were 15-year old cameron smith and 14-year old cooper caffrey. 9 seconds later... officer ken hill cafeteria... chased after hancock on foot.. then by car.. and cornered him. custody.. after surrendering in a field a half mile away... 21 minutes after the shooting. that's where he found the .380 caliber gun. by the way.. dwyer says there's surveillance video ey he.but aren't releasing yet.. and 4 hours of police radio traffic. meanwhile..
