trish hartman is live from the eakens oval with more on this trish.his is a very important cause. >> reporter: this has become a father's day tradition for so many runners and walkers we're so glad because it raises awareness about an important men's health issue on this day meant to celebrate the men who are important in our lives. there are folks hanging around after the run and walk enjoying themselves. we finished up an awards ceremony, we heard from jamie apody our sports authority and gary's wife who gave awards to the runners and special fathers on father's day. the 10k race kicked off the 7:30 a.m., and 5k run and 5k and one mile fun walk. matt o'donnell ran be as withle. we caught up with him. this run raises money for breast and prostate health in memory of gary pappa who lost his battle with prostate cancer in june of 2009. they work for education and awareness and treatment. many form fundraising teams for this event in support or memory of their own loved ones. we caught up with jamie apody this morning to talk we are about what it means
