for the north bay, east bay and trivalley, not too much of a difference. 52 in hayward. and 48 in santa rosa. now, let's get to the forecasting issue. the polar air that's been producing the lows is going to stay in place for the next two days. here comes this storm system dropping out of alaska as that moves across the bay, it's going to scoop up moisture. it could be enough to get a rain/snow mix across the bay area. 5:00 p.m. on friday, showers get close to santa rosa. then, as we advance this, by 11:00 tomorrow night, we'll get showers across san francisco back to the east bay. this is when the temperatures will be the coldest. the best possibility of some snow flurries mixing towards the surface. and the best chances could be 7:00 and 8:00 in the morning. the bottom line on this, it looks like the best possibility of that snow will be 3:00 to 9:00 a.m. on saturday, for the east and south bay hills. highest accumulations, one to three inches there. on the valley floor for the entire bay area, watch out for the icy and slick roads. if you don't see snowfall at all, an

trivalley, that's where you'll see temperatures really soar, up to 73. just wanted to highlight a few cities actually expected to set a new record for today for day time highs. gilroy can set a new record of 75. even san jose, 71. livermore, 73. some of our records actually haven't been set for quite some time. you have to go all the way back to 1914 on this day to find some warm temperatures. in fact, it hasn't been that warm in livermore since 1914. 19 6 1967 for downtown san francisco. we're talking about long standing recordings today getting shattered. this christmas will go down in history books. no doubt about it, if we do actually get those highs. we're attracting some cooling. an area of low pressure will slide in. will reinforce cool ocean winds. temperatures will cool off and we'll see the marine layer develop. that will improve our air quality. we're not going to be talking about any more by this weekend. unfortunately, for today, we are talking about that. it's tempting, you want to do some burning, but you cannot do that. it is illegal and

throughout the north bay, east bay and trivalley, you notice temperatures here mid to upper 50s.anta rosa, 59. and livermore expecting 60 with pleasanton at 59. so tomorrow it is warming up and that sun will stay in the forecast. we do have something getting extremely close to us unfortunately no rainfall for us. we definitely could use it. as this cold front gets closer the next 12 to 24 hours, all indications show this breaking up and keeping most of the rainfall for washington and oregon. we do have high pressure building in from the south and we think that is going to be good enough to provide not only sunny weather but temperatures 10 to 15 degrees warmer as we head throughout the next four to six-day forecast. let's go ahead and get a look at those hotter temperatures. when could we be close to record setting heat? looks like by monday. 67 in livermore. record 72. santa rosa, 67 as well. your record, 70. san francisco, 64. with that record of 70 degrees as well. very, very close here throughout monday's forecast and in fact i do think we'll probably set a few records once w
