the biggest thing in summer is tropicals. in this area you can get them year round but it's difficult at times. summertime it's easy to get what you need. we actually have bromeliad plants. it's similar to beginninger in the way it looks. this is a miniature version. they can be really big. i stuck this around the bottom and added rocks. they have colorful rocks now. and we have the yellow and green as well. i honestly cut the plant and just stuck the pieces in and put a banana leaf behind it and that was it. you can put fern around it if you're having a kind of like hawaiian theme or something like that. you can put a bowl of food or couple votive candles or something like that. >> is this low maintenance? >> there's very little water in it so they will survive. you don't have to do a lot with it. the other thing i did, this was a floating desher gerber daisy. it's so easy. i'm going to put the rocks in. >> you just cut it at the head. >> and put it in there. the good thing about these. not only can you do these for a table

concerned a little bit about the tropics and still nothing going on in the tropics.r here we are heading into august of the first tropical storm still forming of the season. overnight tonight, there goes the showers. and in back of it, tomorrow, with west to northwesterly winds, it will be hot and a little bit maybe less humid. then we have another little ripple coming through with that heat that might kick off some afternoon thunderstorms and especially on sunday. so for the remainder of the evening, showers there and just about ov except for you folks extreme southern maryland. and temperatures about where they are now. 70 to 75 degrees. might see them rise a little bit with a little bit of this late afternoon sunshine coming back. skies will clear tomorrow. it will be a quiet morning. but a bit on the warm, humid side. temperatures tomorrow morning near 70 degrees. nice day tomorrow. if you are heading out to western maryland and garrett county, mountains of west virginia, can't rule out a thundershower. better chance of seeing one around us here on sunday. so kee

the dew point temperatures are in the 70's and that makes it tropical. they are in the low to mid 70's at this point. not quite as humid but way up there. 69 new york, 68 westminster. showers in oakland and technically dropped the moisture content. atmosphere a little bit. it is 61 at oakland right now. here is the map. thin clouds over us so there are breaks in the clouds and we will see a little sun today. but as the front gets closer. right now it is in the ohio river valley. the top end is near detroit. low pressure center over and west of louisville. that will move in today. it is that drier air, the jetstream right here bumping into all of this tropical moisture and you get thunderstorms. there is a slight risk of severe weather up and down the eastern seaboard from new england to north carolina. also in the plains states. the primary threat is wind, but with the way the jetstream is set up you could get an isolated tornado or a little bit of hail. today mostly cloudy. best rain chance in the afternoon and evening. it is quite likely and we mention
