that's our tropical storm system. looks like it's losing a little bit of steam breaking up a little bit more. it is on a weakening track. that's good news because it's already brought a lot of heavy rain and strong winds to northern end of the philippines. at least 13 deaths have been reported already. so it's been a deadly system. it's now moving away from the country, and likely heading into a northest easterly track. hopefully it will become a tropical depression. it's weakening as it hits the cooler water in the north. now in terms of rain, a lot of that really heavy rain is moving away from the philippines and is out over sea. scattered showers again, today. you do want to continue to be on the watch for further flooding as well as potential landslides. taiwan will miss the bulk of the heavy rain as well. still scattered showers throughout the day. then we will keep close eye on okinawa islands, too, as you may see more rain in the next few days. meanwhile, we have this frontal boundary to the north of the tropic

meanwhile, ahead of the tropical storm system, we have this long frontal boundary here. and it is interacting with all of that moisture coming up from the tropical storm system. so we're still going to be looking at the chances of very heavy rain to develop across central china, the korean peninsula, and in towards japan too. so wide area picking up on quite a bit of rainfall over the next day or so. we are going to see that heightened risk of flooding as well as landslides for these areas as well, so you do want to keep a close eye on your area. tuesday's highs will show quite a bit of warmth coming in towards shanghai. getting up to 34 degrees. it will be hot and steamy. also humid for tokyo today at 28. rain will start up in the afternoon. and then 21 in seoul, getting up to 32 degrees. now a look at the quake-affected areas. two-day outlook will show showers continuing to tuesday morning for myako. by wednesday, a lot of sunshine overall across the area. rain the start up in the midday afternoon hours, and you do want to watch out for apparent heavy downpours as well

here we have a tropical storm system. this is just the second one of this year, but it is strengthening rapidly. it's already a severe tropical storm system packing winds up to 108 kilometers per hour. gusts are hitting 144 kilometers per hour. strong winds we're talking about. still continuing in a rather northwesterly direction. looks like over the next couple days it may get close to the northern end of the philippines and we will keep a close eye on it. it's expected to maintain the slow pace and also continue to develop. those winds are likely to get stronger within the next 24 hours. we're expecting it to attain typhoon status. we'll keep a close eye on its development. along with the winds, we're going to be seeing quite a bit of rain with the system. the outer rain band starting to move in toward the central philippines the next 24 hours. the core of the really heavy rain could start impacting you. a wet next couple days. the winds are going to intensify as well. keep a close eye on this system if you are going to

as for the philippines, we have a tropical low showing signs of developing here. heavy rain expected in the coming days across central and southern portions, accompanied by strong winds. as well that system not in a hurry to go anywhere. it will be really dampening the region over the coming days. temperatures look like this. 37 in manila today. 26 in taipei. warming up to 31. it will be chilly in tokyo at 15 degrees. let's take a closer look at japan. it will be mostly dry here with of course exception of some showers down in the islands. sunny spells and mild conditions expected out towards the west, but looking cloudy and chilly across central and northern portions contending with the strong northeasterly winds. 15 degrees in sendai today. 11 degrees in sapora. temperatures on the cool side. only 10 degrees and cloudy in miyako. friday, staying dry but again fairly chilly. from sendai towards mito as well, dry conditions. we could will see light showers forming later on. and again temperatures remain on the cool side. now we take a look at europe, where weather
