pretty amazing what is happening in the tropics at this hour. we have, for boy, the first time in a very long time, we are talking about tropical weather in january. normally, tropical season doesn't start until june 1. but you know, that is just normal. it has been anything but normle with el nino this year. and right there, that is just not just a tropical storm. that has become hurricane alex. when we do get to the tropical system, the "a" storm, already done. this is the azores here. portugal. and spain. and we hardly every see this. but it is so unusual. i just wanted to share it with you. this storm is forecast to be category one hurricane, when it makes land fall on the central azores. friday morning. and then going into the atlantic and hit the colder waters of the north atlantic and just transition. but wow, that is crazy. >>> hey, look at this. we have sunshine today. we are going to be in the upper 40s. a nice afternoon. not too breezy. and tonight, southwesterly winds. a miles an hour. 39 by midnight. mid-30s overnight. to a few 20s

this is tropical storm pali. this is actually the earliest tropical storm that formed over the pacific basin, packing winds of 00 kilometers per hour. this is all caused by extremely warm sea surface temperatures caused by el nino. this system will likely stay as a tropical storm into friday. it's going to move down toward the south and east the next several days. we don't think it's going to affect any land masses. calm conditions are continuing across the honolulu region as well as the hawaiian islands. thanks to a high pressure system bringing winds, surface is up to 8 meters monday morning. that's why high surf warning is in place. sunny weather will continue into thursday, at least, in honolulu. you can enjoy one of the best weather on the planet for the next several days. across europe, there is a low pressure system in front over this area, bringing rainy weather across the south and snowy weather across the north and along this cold front, severe weather is happen iing. this low is causing severe weather

let's look at the complete opposite here, talk about the tropics. we have our latest tropical cyclone, this is victor, spinning up. it was once a very powerful storm system. now it's starting to weaken out, but this is not something you want to take for granted though. we still have this as a category 3 tropical cyclone, that's the equivalent of category 1 talking about hurricanes in the atlantic or a weak typhoon toward the north. winds about 120 kilometers per hour. it's moving just toward the south of tonga. you could see tropical storm winds come out of this and definitely the high waves before it moves away. i know just looking at the picture you may be thinking this is a fish storm, it's not impacting people but there is a few of these islands which are going to be taking some impact from this storm system. let's take a look over here towards europe. i do want to mention western europe. we have this area of low pressure, you can see it just coming into the picture. that's bringing some blustery conditions out there in the british isles, even e
