trt: 30 oc: iowa pheasant hunters were anticipating a better season this year and john campbell joined some gentlemen on opening weekend who were definitely not disappointed. if you think this picture was taken 20 years ago, think again. it was snapped this past sunday. two priotities today. safety. please stay in straight line and have fun. ok. we will head towards pin oak. dan greiner of washington county has been hosting family and friends for more than 30 years. they will remember 2015 as one of the best opening weekends. the push and post game plan through crp acres paid off handsomely. mainly because birds were more than plentiful. the hatch we had this spring..... that was a show. the numbers are definitely up. but dan greiner will tell you that is hasn't always been this way. we have had some slim years. numbers went down. hopes went down. it's all about habitat. areas in state are down but with my dad's conservation practices and keeping food sources that keeps wildlife here. greiner figures they bagged 40 per cent of the roosters they saw. meaning the other 60 per cent surviv
