that's a hill just outside the alpine meadow ski area located between truckee and tahoe city. reporter kristen filed this report earlier this evening. >> rest caw crew now starting to clear the scene. they found the skier about a mile inside this terrain. they believe he was there for about 3 hours until crew could get to him. standing here with doug reid part of the rescue team. what can you tell us about the rescue operation today? >> we went up and of the top of the mountain and skied back down to him. it was a safer route than skiing in from the side. and we found him with one of his other ski partners and we did our best to stabilize him. wrap him up. get him into our sled. and get him down the mountain. he was wrapped around a tree and multiple broken limbs. so it was it was a pretty tough situation from the good it go and to try and get him unwrapped and then packaged up and loaded for the sled ride down was tough. >>reporter: now reminder for skiers out here. there are warning signs around here letting people know that this is an avalanche danger area. again the skier
