let's bring in damion trujillo in santa barbara. you spoke with the sheriff late tonight.ow it's a rescue mission. at what point will it transform into a recovery mission? they said it's not looking good for those 26 people unaccounted for. >> reporter: that's a good question, raj. a lot of us in the media thought they would make that announcement at the 4:00 news conference today. they are giving it another night and tomorrow morning. tomorrow's next news conference is at 10:00 a.m. hopes are really low here. it seems like at that point they might make the switch into a recovery effort a. >> let's talk about what kind of firefighting equipment they had on the boat itself. and about that hatch we keep hearing about, that emergency hatch. >> reporter: well, by law they have to have at least a fire extinguisher. the sheriff said that they did. otherwise, they would not have pass an inspection by the coast guard. it's an annual inspection. that particular boat has received a clean bill of health. they have had no issues with it. so they had a minimum fire extinguisher. if the
