well, the fact that after the incident happened, no one went up and swept the truman balcony to discover that the bullets had actually hit that and what they hit, but nobody's talking about the fact that it was actually a huge success story that the secret service years before that had anticipated the possibility that someone from a quarter mile or a half mile away on constitution avenue could fire a rifle at the white house. and what did they do as a result of that? they put in place extensive protective measures to make sure that couldn't actually pose a threat to first family as they were in the building. it was successful in preventing that from happening. >> that may be true, but don't you think it's the case that people should know if the white house is hit by bullets? >> of course, of course. and look, the secret service is an organization that has always spent a great deal of time and placed a lot of value on post event analysis, red teaming what they do and how they do it and what can we learn from this incident to do something a little bit better. so what did they do as a resul
