now, as we saw with other trumpers, like manafort and cohen, charges were not far behind this kind of move. now, the question becomes charges about what? "the new york times" reports tonight that at least one of the warrants was seeking evidence related to the ousting of marie yovanovitch from her role as ambassador to ukraine. you'll remember how impressive she was when she was discussed during the impeachment hearings and what she was about in her job, what she liked, what she didn't like. trump removed her from her post. why? the speculation was, from giuliani and others, that she had stood in the way of his shakedown efforts to smear biden. and that is what this may all be about. what giuliani perhaps with the knowledge and participation of trump and others did for ukraine and its agents to get information and assistance on the bidens, real or fake. we also know that giuliani did not hide these efforts. he openly went to ukraine as the president's lawyer, or so he said. you'll see why i qualify that in a moment. he said he was going to get information, including information from a

so when you add in the never trumpers, that's 35%.l minority of the party, but when you have so few people willing to be the representative, the lead for that segment of the party, meanwhile, you have a very packed field of people vying for becoming the next trump. you know, she has a shot. so it's kind of interesting to see how this might play out. >> very interesting. so i want to ask you about what's going on in arizona. there is a republican-led recount of 2020 presidential ballots from maricopa county, which is the most populous county and this is pretty interesting because there have already been two audits there. this is 2 million ballots. there were no irregularities in those other two audits, and this all started because of the big lie. how do you see this? this is what the gop in arizona is championing. how do you find the place where maybe the republicans who feel actually kind of disenfranchised by their own party but also don't consider themselves democrats, where do they go in arizona? >> i mean, this is lunacy. governor

during the 2020 election, a group of those of us who would call ourselves never trumpers, people who had in essence defected from the republican party, decided to do an ad campaign trying to convince like-minded people not to vote for the former president. they thought, well, maybe we could get a bunch of celebrities and a bunch of governors, all kind of things. turned out the most effective thing was ordinary republicans who were who were shooting on their phones or on their screens -- completely unscripted. they looked and sounded just like your neighbor, like an ordinary person. so sometimes, expertise can be alienating. having a republican governor get up there on a 30-second ad and saying, here's all the reasons you shouldn't vote for this guy is way less effective than having a guy who looks like your neighbor in this poorly shot kind of shaky video on explaining his own revelations -- and finding those sorts of credible messengers is a lot i think of the challenge that we are going to face. warren: that's really a fascinating answer. we have come to the time when i would love
