in the front row i see the unit chief from tsa. he has talked an awful lot about things that go bump in the night. we share these things. he has always been a great advocate of mine as i have of his. we have put on seminars together and traveled around the country educating people. you are only as good as people allow you to be. the people around me help not only myself look good, but everybody around us. we have a great staff of tremendously talented people. robin is a great leader. we have a good group. we have a good organization structurally to lead us into this paradigm shift or a culture change that is going to improve the current aviation system. so, and there is an awful lot of resources out there that need to be developed. if we get efficient -- and people have said, if you get efficient, have the guise of the airport in the blue shirts and badges are going to go away. they're going to lose their jobs. not necessarily. first of all, there are other things we can do. they do not just stand around. they have a commission. --

if you have a felony going back seven years, you cannot work at the port without going through a tsa background check. 1.5 million workers this past year had to go through that. those are everywhere, but there are some basic employment rights that people have, and here in california, we have some good laws on the books. we'll talk about reform of these losses some more. i will be happy to talk about that now, but i just want to mention there are some good laws that protect workers. for example, you have this issue -- you had multiple levels of access to all this criminal record information. first, you have the state criminal record system that is basically to upload all the local county records. of the federal criminal records system, which is considered the cadillac of the record systems out there. it is an accumulation of all the state records, and then you have private screening firms -- big corporations that are making a lot of money on criminal background checks, credit checks, and all that. in california, those laws are pretty heavily regulated. for example, the private screeni
