like for tsa. so, when ice issues these forms and that person continues to travel, they make a reservation with the carriers as they normally would. they come into the screening checkpoint, they show us that form. that begins in a tire process where we work to verify their identity. , essentially what we're looking to do is to ensure that this is the person who claims to be in front of us. and we have advances quite a bit over the past year, year and a half. to now, we are working with customs and border protection. we use a biometric identification. so, sometimes, when these individuals approached the checkpoint, already with the reservation, we do a biometric facial scan. that app, that's on an iphone, which was the result that yes, this person was encountered by border patrol or a customs field officer and they were paroled into the country. and we verify their identity biometric lee. so, they've been checked against the terror databases. >> have even down to the border? >> yes i have. >> so, my

let's look at tsa checkpoints as travelers make their way through. we know we had about 2.44 million passengers make their way through tsa security checkpoints on thursday. friday the highest level, the largest amount making their way through tsa since before the pandemic, february 2020. and that number 2.5 million. then yesterday it dipped back down to 2.2 million passengers and if we're judging things just from this airport, i would expect that number to dip again today because we haven't seen as many long lines and as many frustrated passengers and, jessica, the good thing for people it's not 1994. you're going to get a text or an email that your flight has been canceled or delayed instead of arriving to the airport and having to look at the big board and seeing that big red cancel sign. jessica? >> that is the beauty of technology but, also, i started to get anxious when i was getting text messages, oh, no, another delay, another cancellation. nadia romero, thank you so much. >>> joining us is travel and hospitality analyst from morning consult l

tsa sending us an update on all the travelers who have checked in over the past weekend. those numbers have gone up definitely for sure. if you look at thursday, we're looking at 2.4 million americans and other travelers have gone through the checkpoint. friday was the busiest day for travelers. 2.5 million, the busiest since the pandemic, since february 2020. saturday, 2.2 million. just yesterday, 2.1 million. you did see the numbers go down a bit. the biggest concern for travelers is not getting through tsa security checkpoints but making sure their flight is going to arrive, that it wasn't canceled or delayed. we spoke with a woman who spent 22 hours in the airport because of two massive delays. take a listen. >> there are pretty long lines at the help desk as well. i know a lot of people were frustrated. i think there were a lot of delays and also bad weather down south with raining and any time there's a lightning strike, they delay it for another 15 minutes. i know people were pretty frustrated. i felt pretty bad for the airport workers. >> reporter: you can see meg
