tsa operations do you think opportunities to reduce travel or house without compromising the security? >> one of the key ways would be to bring more people into the trusted traveler program whether it's through precheck or global entry. that would be critical to improving the flow. but when you do that you get more people into the tsa pre-check lines. you have to make sure you process them to the lines expeditiously as well because you can have a longer queue in the pre-checkpoint and having a standard life and expect people to want to do that. i think that bring you more people into those kinds of programs is really, really important. >> and i know i think senator blumenthal may have asked you about this, but the federal hiring freeze, how will the partial continuation of a hiring freeze affect our homeland security? >> as i understand the tsa budget, the impact on a hiring freeze will be mostly felt on the support in the tsa. and that helps the operations continue but it does have, i've watched this dynamic in the past and a coast guard service, some point you can't trim support to deeply because then you start to affect the ability of the front-line forces to get the job done so it's a very carefu
