it looks to be around tucson.t was 85 miles an hour this morning and 75 mile an hour by tonight, moving fast. this could make an impact in tucson, eastern arizona, and into new mexico late tonight and tomorrow. some of that moisture, even the kansas city national weather service is talking about that coming in later in the week. that will make a big impact on the rainfall, but not here. hardly any breeze whatsoever with that warmer air, and we will warm up. the days are getting shorter and the nights longer, so we are getting some cool lows. in the upper 40s, and palo alto at 52. there are plenty of 40s to the north, and 58 in calistoga is a sign of warm air. petaluma, novato, some cool lows. truckee and 32, 48 in monterey. the fog will be chewed up pretty quick. we will have sunshine for all with a high peaking tomorrow. today it is backed up but still above normal for everybody. san francisco is a little bit above, along with oakland. inland they are definitely above by 5 degrees, and possibly by 10 degrees tomo

but iris is pinpointing the from our friends in tucson. can we take a live look? i know that you've been busy in the weather center pinpointing where the rain is falling right now. >> and this is mainly the east valley. the main storm, tropical storm newton, still located off to the south. and all of that moisture -- so you can see where the system is. and it is just south of arizona. but it is going to cross into our state this likely around 11 a.m. is when we see the core of the system move in. and it's going to move in south of the tucson area as it lifts through the southeast pocket of our state. as you mentioned ahead of it we're seeing the rain bands thanks to the rich moisture that's moved in. tropical storm newton could move in as a tropical storm or an area of low pressure as it crosses the border just southeast of the valley. across southeast arizona where we see the heaviest rainfall. here in the phoenix metro the potential is there for scattered showers and thunderstorms through the day. and that's what we're seeing develop on desert doppler radar. we
