abc7 news meteorologist drew tuma is tracking the numbers. abc7 news at 6:00 starts now. >>> good evening. i'm katie marzullo. right now what is left of a huge fallen tree is blocking traffic in san francisco. the tree collapsed across an intersection usually packed with traffic but it's partly shut down now. sergio is live with the cleanup. >> reporter: it took crews an hour to cut up the massive tree, so they can allow for traffic in one lane in both directions to continue through. you can see right now traffic is moving pretty slowly through the street. let's go to video to show you this huge tree seems to have come apart at the roots and then collapsed over the street. fire crews quickly went to work with the chain saws, cutting it apart. it came down at a time when there is usually quite a bit of foot traffic through what is a pretty busy street, but witnesses say no one was hurt and no cars were damaged when it came down. >> the tree just slowly started to fall and tip, and then luckily there was no cars on the street. but it was crazy.

let's go right to drew tuma and live doppler 7 hd. we've been waiting more than a month for this. >> a lot of us very excited about the rain headed our way. dan this time tomorrow we'll be tracking our first band moving into the north bay. live doppler 7 hd at the moment is quiet and it will be rather active over the next couple of days as not one but a series of storms moves through the area. about 18,000 feet in the atmosphere is where storms gather their moisture and move. that line of arrows is the jet stream. that pretty much dictates where storms go. in the next couple of days, that jet stream will set up shop right over the bay area. our first storm arriving friday into saturday, and then the second storm moves in right on the heels of the first to round out the weekend. so the storm risks we're looking at for this first storm on friday certainly flooding it at a high potential because several inches of rain will fall especially in the north bay. mud and rock slides are possible. so is wind damage. the winds will start to becom

abc7 news meteorologist drew tuma is tracking the numbers.ts now. >>> good evening. i'm katie marzullo. right now what is left of a huge fallen tree is blocking traffic in san francisco. the tree collapsed an intersection usually packed with traffic but it's partly shut down now. sergio is live with the cleanup. >> reporter: it took crews an hour to cut up the massive tree, so they can allow for traffic in one lane in both directions to continue through. you can see right now traffic is moving pretty slowly through the street. let's go to video to show you this huge tree seems to have come apart at the roots and then collapsed over the street. fire crews quickly went to work with the chain saws, cutting it apart. it came down at a time when there is usually quite a bit of foot traffic through what is a pretty busy street, but witnesses say no one was hurt and no cars were damaged when it came down. >> the tree just slowly started to fall and tip, and then luckily there was no cars on the street. but it was crazy. >> a car had just passed thro
