let's go to drew tuma who has a look at the watches around warnings. >> we're seeing flood watches and warnings in effect. a flood advisory for the north bay. what that means, we have already seen flooding on the small streams and creeks. that will continue at least through 6:30. later on this evening. this was just issued in the past 60 seconds or so. a flood advisory for the heart of the bay area. this includes san francisco, oakland, hayward, fremont, san mateo, even palo alto. this means with more heavy rain, we're going to see flooding on our roadways. this will likely continue at least through 8:45 this evening. that encompasses the evening commute. the evening commute is going to be a mess. a flash flood watch is in effect for the entire region. we're under that flood threat and seeing flooding right now. we're going to see flooding later on this evening thanks to heavy rain moving through. we could see thunder showers popping up. the threat is there for the rest of the evening with lightning with the forecast. wind is the other component of the storm. we have not seen the stron

. >> abc7 news meteorologist drew tuma is here with details. drew? >> eric and deon, over the next 24 hours, our air quality will be declining thanks to our stagnant weather pattern we've been under several days. our air quality will be poorest in the north bay over the next 24 hours. elsewhere, from the coast to the inland eastbound and the south bay, we'll have moderate air quality. so it's for that fact the spare the air day is in effect tomorrow. that means it's no wood burning. that's illegal the next 24 hours. so what to expect under these air quality issues tomorrow? you'll notice haze in our atmosphere especially in the afternoon, that's when we'll find the worst air quality during that time of the day. so it's a good idea if you have respiratory issues, you do want to limit your time-out doors. the good news, this poor air quality will not last all that long. rain returns to the forecast this week. we're going to detail that when i see you for the full accuweather forecast in a few minutes. >> we'll see you then, drew. >>> police are investi

let's check in with drew tuma with our watches and warnings. >> spencer, that storm coming tomorrow is going to get a fresh injection of energy that is going to bring some very heavy rainfall thanks to an atmosphere of river. that's a narrow band of moisture that's very abundant and rich in rainfall. where that sets up shop tomorrow along the california coastline will bring some very heavy rainfall. it is for that fact, we have a flood threat tomorrow, a flashflood watch encompassing the entire bay area for heavy rainfall tomorrow. that could create rapid rises in the water levels. we'll see the small streams overflow. we'll see water on the roadways. it's not just water we're worried about but winds. a high wind warning will go into effect tomorrow as well. that's about as extreme of a warning you get around here for high winds. we could expect winds in excess of 40 to 50 miles an hour. so likely not only flooding, we'll see some trees come down and the possibility of some isolated power outages. when spencer comes back, he'll go hour by hour, show you when the heaviest rainfall hits

. >> let's check in with meteorologist drew tuma for more on the weather cast. >> tonight we're still tracking some scattered showers out there. we're not done with the storm system quite yet. live doppler 7, i want to zoom in to a couple spots. from novato, san rafael over to hair ward and san ramon right now. into the south bay we have one downpour that moved out of willow glenn moving into edenville. there are pops of yellow. even to mount hamilton, once you get higher vegass and colder air, the white you see on live doppler 7 could be a few flakes flying in our hills. the wider picture had a line of showers move through earlier this evening. now they're widely scattered. so forth next four hours, we're going to keep the storm impact scale intact for scattered showers, even the possibility of some wind gusts near 30 miles an hour. and there is the isolated chance you could see a couple of hail storms pop up within that four-hour period. behind the storm system, we have a major change to our pattern. we're going to detail that in the full accuweather forecast in a few minutes. >> th
