a car was even hit by the tree as it tumbled down. then over on the westbound side you can see the wires across the lanes and those are live wires. something even was smoldering that came into contact with them. chp completely shut down highway 80 as crews came to clear the live wires. they have done so and at this point, all westbound lanes are reopened. eastbound, only one lane is getting by and i can tell you from personal experience the traffic all around vallejo, very very slow. a lot of people are taking detours trying to get on to surface streets to avoid the traffic, but it is not going very well. there you can see a lot of crews have just arrived on scene. behind me that is the fire department, it looks like the cal fire department, rather that has just arrived here on scene to help clear this tree. also when we were headed to this location we saw crews from at & t and pg & e so a lot of resources have converged on this area in vallejo, on highway 80. but again at this point we have no word on when the highway will reopen. in
