and the turks and caicos.ll a powerful category five and tonight the track shifted just a little bit west and brings it into south florida with things going downhill saturday afternoon into saturday night. and that is not good at all. so, here's what's next. it's going through the turks and caicos now. it hits the southeastern bahamas friday. the track did shift a little bit west today at 5:00 p.m. and the south florida impact could be devastating late saturday and sunday with not only flooding but additional rain of seven to 12-inches through sunday. predicted storm surge for southeast florida five to 10 feet. and that hurricane watch is up now for south florida and that will include miami, west palm, key west and naples. there is the most recent track. you can see that right there as it brings it into, again, south florida very close to miami and broward county late saturday night and early sunday as a category four. there's still time that this track could change just a little bit. a right-hand turn is expe

now to turks and caicos.ngs are in effect and include all bahama islands, a little bit of cuba. this is brand new today. this is a hurricane watch. this is a very big deal. it is the next stage. it says more than just watch out. this is going to become a warning as the days progress. we are 2 1/2 days out. the warnings most likely will extend northward on each coast line and in towards the carolina coast because that is still possibility of landfall. we did see another shift, not to the east like yesterday by 60 or 70 miles but to the west back another 15 or 20. we are going to see this. you have to understand how well the models have handled this. all of these models meet up in savannah. i want to take you back to andrew. this came in from a different trajectory. we are coming up from the south. a small part of real estate of southern florida was hit by this although it was devastating. no doubt over $26 billion in economic losses. when you have a system coming up due south across entire florida peninsula an

it is very close to grand turk island about 60 miles southeast of grand turk right now.hat is the southeastern most portion of the bahamas. you see them right there, the little islands just to the north. you have haiti here, the dominican republic, which dodged a big bullet. here we are with the turks and cacaos right in here, grand turk is going to get hammered, i think we'll see more devastating pictures over the next couple of days and really, all of the bahamas. this is going to run right on through. movement to the west northwest at 16 miles an hour. now, again, it was at 185, the difference between 175 and 185 not a lot and the pressure starting to come down again, down to 922 mill bars. that tells you the storm is incredibly strong. it takes it in between the bahamas and cuba as a category 4, 155-mile-an-hour storm and makes the turn to the north, makes the turn to the north by sunday 8:00 right on miami's doorstep at 145 miles per hour, that will be a devastating storm to the city of miami. right now they are under hurricane watch, west palm, notice how much here

we're looking at the storm moving towards turks and cacaos moving over grand turk island, they are really under the gun, 15 to 20-foot storm surge, that is a wall of 20 feet high coming across the island. that's going to be the case for many of the bahamas island as we move on to the next couple of days. the track itself take it between cuba and the bahamas. when andrew came across, bahamas stopped a lot of the storm surge. this is the area where you have the most water and 155-mile an hour wind. this is going to be such a devastating storm for parts of the southeast if the eye goes to the east of miami and stays out to sea. we'll see much less damage and goes a little bit farther to the west. that's the scenario that's playing out across the region. i want to show you this, here is the wind field you see where that is, right over miami. this is where the worst of the storm is going to be. that's where we'll see the strongest wind. i want to show you what it's like to be category 3. i was at the university of maryland wind tunnel. i was thinking to myself, i want to see how strong these w
