emily turner is live at general hospital this morning where history will be made in just a few hours. good morning, emily. >> i know. it's finally some good news when it comes to the pandemic and 2020 in general. its been a rough year. here in just a few hours they will be getting the first doses of the vaccine at sf general. great news. this is going to be the largest vaccination effort pretty much across the country in united states history. health care worker was the great her risk and the most patient interaction will be the first to receive them. it's a big deal. there are 2,000 doses here specifically just at sf general. enough to vaccinate a thousand people. it requires two doses to vaccinate someone. their share is of those 33,000 total sent to the bay area. from stanford to kaiser. cold freezers have been installed they are ready to store thousands of vials of the vaccine. at oakland international fedex planes are bringing more doses backed in dry ice. ucfs plans to start them on wednesday. stanford plans to ram up it's program to vaccinate as many as a thousand people a day
