tzipi livni joins me now. tzipi, it's good to see you again. thanks for being with us.'ve been wanting to talk to you to understand, as somebody who's been in negotiations in the past, i just got back from israel and there's certainly no appetite whatsoever nor any potential for negotiations with hamas. they're essentially never has been. is there anyone to talk to? >> and rightly so. you mentioned before, -- and rightly so. one is shia, and the other is sunni. the common denominator that these groups represent, the -- religious against conflicts are not about national conflicts >> and therefore, negotiations with hamas, hamas is -- there's no hope for peace. i negotiated peace with the legitimate p.a., they represent a national conflict with israel, a difficult negotiation, but hopefully we can reach an agreement in the future. hummus, hummus can open gaza and get legitimacy. in 2006, after they were elected in the elections in the palestinian authority, the international community, including the u.s., russia, u.n. ands -- the palestinian government can be legitimate,
