i do think that ins chase is like a u. c. l. a and columbia where we've seen more confrontation with the police probably hasn't been handled that well, obviously i'm not privy to all of the details and certainly a challenging situation. but i think a lot of it stands from an inability to enforce some of these rules and regulations from the very outset, to be clear about what students can and cannot do as they choose to violate the rules and regulations. and they know that they are going to be dealt with appropriately. i think any professor or any academic doesn't like to see students in a situation where they are confronted police. it can be dangerous and want to encourage students to be able to express their views and open uh open contacts. but at the same time, you know, when students do engage in civil disobedience and they have, they have to understand that they're going to be consequences to that. are the alternative courses to leave the process and comments in place. but that in itself encourages counts of probably just as

i was on the campus of u. c. l. a and what happened there was a disgrace. they were very to the pro palestinian protestors were peaceful. they set up an encampment. uh and then these right wing mobs at 1 o'clock in the morning a couple of days ago these right wing mobs. they were wearing mass, hundreds of them warmly in canton, and instead of beating, they tore down the barricade that was set up, and they had weapons and bare mace. and they were sprang students and attacking them physically one got staples in his head and the p. d. was on the scene, but they did nothing for several hours. and a lot of the students were peacefully protesting. and i mean, they haven't raised in debate the issue, but they do have a right to express their view. they were peaceful and they were attacked and the police did not defend them. and university president really didn't side of those students who were attacked. he said that they were managed to safety. then the police came in and broke up the encampment. and a lot of the palestinian were arrest the pro palestinian protest

i became so frustrated that i went to the a c l u and got a pro bono lawyer. the case went all the way to the supreme court and, and we, we failed at the supreme court, but people have to understand that the office of the publications review board, i have to say is really an office of censorship. you know, if someone writes a book that praises the c, i a in any way or as a high ranking luminary, those books are reviewed and a matter of day. oh yeah, a couple of weeks. oh yeah. is not months. so what i've done is i don't submit any, but again, it just, i'm not going to acknowledge their ability to censor a legitimate criticism. they know damn well, but i'm not going to expose a sensitive matter a source or a method. but there's information that needs to get out there, that frankly isn't that sensitive because a lot of what the c i classified is to protect the viruses. and there's a lot of the c, i is done that they should be embarrassed about. so they use the p r b, the publications review board as a censorship tool, and no one will speak to this. you're absolu
