our culture of innovation lives on the waterfront with u.c.s.f.ld class research to help us navigate this pandemic. the reason be the first omicron case in the countries was identified in san francisco. it wasn't because we were first to get it. it is because the researchers at u.c.s.f. were the first to find it that is what is happening. tech companies making groundbreaking discoveries every day in san francisco. waterfront is a place for families. look at the san francisco bay trail, india basin. at mission rock there will soon be a playground for kids to play. u.c.s.f. is building a new research and academic center adjacent to the old emergency room where i worked for 20 years. they are building a five story structure. 175,000 square feet. displacing i don't know how many but about 100 parking spots. no, the city is not paying for this. this is $186 million estimate. i am sure there will be cost overruns. that gave u.c.s.f. the space that we have been trying to get a child care center on the campus for a long, long time. it is okay to get rid of parking spaces right next to the building so u.c.s.f. can have what they want but not okay for a child care center. per the arbitrator because we are trying to cooperate and we are both doing a good job of working together to the extent we can. we have been meeting since april of 2019 with representatives of the city. first dph then other departments jumped in. i will talk about a few of the delays, some of which were already talked about. i think it illustrates the need for oversight and authorities at the
