jessica doyle is in with another your money report. >> a big airline deal could impact your money especially if you're a business traveler. >> we have u.s. airways and american potentially on the eventual of announcing a merger that would create the world's biggest airline. so a lot of people might be wondering what does this deal mean for me and possibly my next flight? well first up will fares rise? the "wall street journal" predicts in the long-term, they probably will. as the industry consolidates the airlines have been picking up more pricing power. if this deal goes through, since 2001 mergers have turned ten airlines into just four. that gives you an idea how much the consolidation is going on. you may also be wondering about your frequent flier miles, your other perks. in the past consumers have been able to retain everything they earned. what could happen in this case u.s. airways flyers would be able to transfer their miles to american's advantage program. if you have accounts on both you might be able to combine them but there's also the possibility that the value of some of the miles could be reduced as the airlines work out
