u.s. that's according to a new report the department of health and human services inspector general has releasedthe report examined 30 recalls that companies reported to the fda between 2012 and 2015 and found serious delays getting that news to shoppers. hillary vaughn has the story from the west coast news hub. hillary, what does the report say about the fda? >> well, that they're not doing their job. the new inspector general report says eight times out of ten, the fda is failing to make sure that food that gets recalled doesn't end up in grocery stores. companies making the contaminated products are sometimes operating negligently and putting all of us at risk. the inspector general reviewed the fda misses their audit period 80% of the time and sometimes skipped it completely. it can take up to ten months for stores to stop selling recalled food. in one case, listeria was found in cheese products almost three months passed before the products were pulled from shelves. one infant died and two pregnant women recalled their unborn children. one of the supplements was not safe and the company co
