u.s. courts, have been found guilty and sentenced to life in prison. people who rose to the occasion had to deal with the international media, who were calling every few minutes to get updates. they were liaisonning with the government of tanzania and dar es salaam. and the government of tanzania gave us excellent support. and thank you mr. ambassador, for being here today, because they knew the tragedy that occurred and they wanted to help us as best they could. and it really, in the long run improved u.s.-tanzanian relations. and we had to have security, even though the facilities that we moved to were very unsecure. the marines sent in 50 extra marines to give us that security. and our regional security officer was very much active to ensure that we had the security we needed. and another way of rising to the occasion is to support and write about the pursuit of justice in the face of tyranny. so what i see, when i look around here, are heroes, people who really did rise to the occasion whether they were americans or tanzanians or kenyans or others.
