if i look at ubs, we have over the last four years raised $5 billion capital, we have basically paid out $7 billion of dividends to our shareholders and we paid $8 billion in terms of litigation costs. so the balance, and at's in everyone's institutional interest, is you need to have a balance between building capital and preparing the bank for the future and settling your legacy. it has to be done. and we did that because we moved early, we got out of businesses that were no longer profitable and we focused on the things that were profitable. that's why last year we had a $6.5 billion profit. if you have no profit, if you're running low profits, you cannot build capital and settle the past. so it's very much up to every clause of every bank to focus on the right balance between settling the past, being profitable now and building the bank of the up too. and i think european banks have a problem in the sense that many of them are still in the transformational business model to reinvest and ensure shareholders that are at the core of the franchise that they have the capacity to earn.
