of what happened to their 13-year-old daughter after what's been described as a botched surgery at ucf children's hospital in oakland. you might recall back in december 2013 a doctor operated on jahai's nose and throat to alleviate her sleep apnea. when she came out of surgery she began coughing up buckets of blood. the suit claims two nurses contradicted each other how to stop the bleeding and refused the parents' initial request for a doctor. she allegedly bled for five hours, lost two pints of blood. doctor finally arrived, the teenager suffered a heart attack. the hospital eventually declared her brain dead and according to the suit started hounding her parents to sign over for an organ donation and allegedly approaching the mother when she was praying for her daughter inside the hospital chapel. the hospital won't comment on pending litigation but did tell the bay area news group their hearts go out to the family. the family believes jahai is not brain dead, that she has limited brain function. she remains on machines in an apartment in new jersey where nurses tend to her 24 hours
