that's the last time that some of the victims lived here on ucf campus or worked here. it might be the last time the students or employees updated their mailing addresses with the university. the second largest university in the country was the number one target for hackers last month. 63,000 people who's social security numbers could be stolen. >> all right. >> reporter: now a ucf student, thomas hodge used to work on campus. heme could be among the thousand of former and current staff who were compromised in the massive data breach and 6,000 student athletes. the breach happened last night. they waited until yesterday to go public, that's when investigators finished compiling a list of victims. >> we want everyone to be aware. >> reporter: ucf will send letters to victims today. but campus leaders are not sure how they will get maimed to current addresses and not the old addresses in their system that might date back to the '80s for some employees. the same ones now in the hands of hackers. and as part of this investigation, the f.b.i. is warning other colleges across

the campus would house 7700 students from ucf and valencia the new donation puts ucf halfway to its goal of raising $20 million in private donations for the new campus. the university is paying $20 million for its own reserves. it's asking the state for 20 million to complete the first phase. the pitch is set for march 2nd. >> a traffic alert about one of the busiest roads in brevard county. a stretch of wickham road is closing tonight and staying closed for 40 days. the brevard county public works director says the $800,000 project will help protect homes west of wickham road from flooding. crews will start cutting a trench across the road to install a 110-foot-long drainage culvert. they need to complete the project before the wet season but drivers say the 40-day delay will make it hard to get the kids to school on time. >> i don't know why they didn't do it through the summer, it would have been easier for the school kids. undertaking for six weeks. they're planning on unless it's extended. >> the road closes tonight at 10:00. local traffic will have access to shops and restaurants.

ucf has set up a website and a phone number for those people as well. ucf officials found the unauthorized access last month. reported it to law enforcement. the campus has launched an internal investigation with the help of a national digital forensics firm. the school officials say that it security, not the credit card numbers and medical records and grades. some students are a bit nervous. school officials say they're taking extra measures to tighten up security on the computer network. >> i am kind of nervous. i think i fall into one of the categories for the ops student employees. i'm a little worried. >> president hitt has call food a complete review -- called for a complete review. we care about our community. we want to do everything we possibly can to protect information. we're going to look at every angle of this to see what we can do better. >> reporter: ucf has posted this information on line, on the twitter account. you could try to get that as well. they're still trying to figure out who is behind all of this. jackie orozco, fox 35 news. >
