he was stabbed to death in a fight after a weekend dance on the uconn campus. the lawyer is not identifying his client but does say that he was involved in the fight. now he says the man did not stab howard. last night howard's teammates, friends and family placed flowers at the site where howard was killed. this morning uconn's head coach spoke about a meeting between the teammates and the victim's parents. >> the mother and the father went around and hugged those kids that were crying. let them know it is nobody's fault. there's nothing they could have done. it was god's way of what he wanted to do. and then they spoke about jas. they spoke about jas' love for each of them. jas' love for the university. for life. and what jas would want them to do and how to carry on. it proceeded to where the mom anded and the dad went and hugged every kid. >> also on the uconn campus today, some students are joining in a day of silence to remember hip and a candlelight vigil is being organized for tomorrow night. >>> a former government scientists is due in court this after

for others on campus -- uconn's a very large university and it's just like a town. there are people who were personally touched by this and people who just happened to be students who saw the aftermath but didn't know the football player or the members of the team who are still affected by it. they would see the candles on their way to the dining hall and whatnot. just a range, relief an arrest has been made and expectation the police would make an arrest. uconn had a very high-profile case there a while back and police there did an outstanding job and brought them to justice. it was an expectation an arrest would happen. >> were there other football players there, do we know? >> at the press conference? >> no, at the dance itself. >> yeah, there were some there who cared for jasper howard when he was injured, who were holding him in his arms when he died. >> what a picture that is, mike brooks. >> brian parker, 19 years old. he's also injured in this fight. he is on the practice squad apparently. there were people around there. and that's the whole question, was he

joining me to talk about this, kate monahan, reporter for the uconn daily campus. psychologist paula bloom. paula, good to have you back as well. kate, let's start with you. what do we know about this guy? >> well, so far we don't know too much other than that he was a uconn freshman from connecticut. he posted these threats, one under the name c.j. and another under a fake name. both of the threatening posts, were both by him. as far as police know, he is in no way affiliated with the suspects in this case. and also, police have said that the threats that he made were empty threats. but they believed that there was reason that it was possible that these threats had prevented witnesses from coming forward, and felt arresting him would help. >> whether they're empty, i'm sure there were people intimidated by these. were you frightened, or other students fearful when they see posts like that? that was threatening. threatening violence. >> yeah. definitely. a lot of people, i mean, over 8,000 people had access to see these posts. just on the facebook page alone. so th
