we've collaborated with ucsf and some researchers there and have completed some interviews, and that happened with both our former supervisors and staff with the d.i.s., and former clients who have worked with us, who have declined to work with us, so we've done a really good job. the staff at city clinic have done a great job of recruiting people to talk it us. we're -- talk to us. we'll have some information to share later this winter and certainly next year when we report back to you, as well. for young women, there's a planned young women's sexual health advisory board as well that we would really -- are excited about, and we really want to see the information that comes out of this. so this is a follow up to some pilot interviews that we did with a doctor from ucsf, and we saw that condoms were available when she talked with a small number of young people, and we are specifically talking about the southeast neighborhoods. condoms were available but not always accessible. so we really want to go more in depth and understand, and the advisory board leads for the department will be

station 4, on the 28th participated with ucsf in a first off orientation of the facility with staff. for those of you that haven't been done in the mission bay, it's a changing environment. it continues to have some street changes, a lot of new construction, including the war yarz facility. the ucsf campus is growing and changing, so station 4 being proactive in knowing their area and the facilities and what's contained in the facilities. then, as i referred to earlier, there was aircraft firefighter training conducted at half moon bay for our airport personnel during the week of august 22 through 31. page 5, other events that are noteworthy, and i'm highlighting some of several. on the 7 of august, the department participated with law enforcement partners in multiple events through the city for nshl nigational night. on august 15, there was a district safety fair, with over 450 community members attended during the four hour period. i believe deputy chief zanoff and deputy chief malloy held hands-off c.p.r. training. you have some pictures in the next several pages of chief gonzales

and so i have to acknowledge folks at ucsf, like laura schmidt, who first proposed this idea of a soda help to spread this and other policies for improved health worldwide, wiley, lou, for supporting this work and my time to do this work, kevin grumback and his leadership and the entire team at cce. the shapeup coalition and christina gota for helping us to understand how we can leverage the research to do work citywide around sugary drinks. the soda tax committee, including my co-chair, joy, jackson morgan, who collectively we made recommendations for $21 million in chronic disease prevention money to support good health in san francisco and focusing those resources on under-resourced communities, the communities that are paying the bulk of this tax. and so this resource should go back into those communities and support health work and other good work to support the communities. the health equity coalition for advocating for good health in communities of color for san francisco in under-resourced communities. supervisors avalos, mar and weiner for first introducing the soda tax policy
