go ahead. >> okay, i am stan from ucsf. when i read this proposal, i thought it was one of the smartest local laws i seen in a long time. when the f.d.a. took jurisdiction over esignificance reside -- e-cigarettes in 2016, they gave them two years for a prema premarket order, saying they're allowing the marketing of the product would be appropriate for the public health. that same rule, the f.d.a. committed to getting the review done within a year at during which time the product would be marketed. so as supervisor wilson said, they could have submitted their premarketed authorization applications three years ago and if they before able -- would be able to make. then they would be sold under this ordinance. the trump administration suspended the rule giving the company until 2022 to even apply. in fact, they have been sued over that in federal court, in maryland, and judge has ordered that the f.d.a. is ignoring the law. the fact that the f.d.a. isn't doing their job is why this ordinance is even being considered right now.

i write grants for san francisco general and ucsf. i only work for nonprofits. i am grateful, also, that the legislation would allow office uses to stay for three years. however, it's my understanding that people like me would need to go through mandatory discretionary review, which i'm told would cost a minimum of $4500, and the actual service for the case management services is $14,000, which is cost prohibitive for someone like myself. even if we were allowed to stay for the three years, that's an incredible expense for a sole proprietor. i have been looking for other property in the city. the few units on the market, the same eight units are about twice as large and twice as expensive. i've lived where i work, and coworking spaces are great for startups, but i need a quiet office where i can write without distractions. i would like to ask you to consider waiving the mandatory permitting process or waving the fee for those who provide important services and maintaining a diverse economy in san francisco. thank you very much. chesk chechk tha >> chair peskin:

construction, a couple of construction updates, one, with regard to the 16th street platform at the ucsf chase center, we are in the final stages of construction of the platform, and we will be doing our final closure in support of that work. just to remind you, right now we have two different split platforms. this is crating a single platform to serve both inbound and outbound trains right in front of the new arena site. it will enable 42 car trains to load simultaneously at large events, so that we will be able to sufficiently move people out and connect them to the rest of the munimobile system as well as other regional connections -- connectors, and eventually the trains will go into the central subway. in order to complete the construction on the platforms, it will take testing, and we will do the final track concrete and paving work. we will have the best substitution on the tee third starting on july 27th. i believe that is a saturday, and it will last approximately ten days. so one workweek, and we will have the line of services suspended during this time to facilitate the work,
