ucsf citywide is the manager of the center. as supervisor if you are indicated the volume of people coming through has increased exponentially since ucsf took leadership. we have about 120 unduplicated people per day. in 1819 we saw -- 18/19 we saw about 3500 unduplicated people. it is a really busy center. the classes are very well attended. the next slide is a work cloud for you to see what some of the classes are. as i mentioned, our partners are the heart and soul of what we do. in addition to ucsf citywide there are 12 additional city and community partners at the casc. i robust ownership of the department of public health. the next slide is a word cloud of the partners that we have at the casc and beyond. just to highlight some of the amazing qualities at ucsf. we have a long partnership with them through collaborative courts. in 2013, through realignment, we launched a first contract with them for behavioral health case management. in 2017, super excited that they took over the management of the casc. their ability to wo

we convened leaders from city departments, from ucsf, from s.f. general hospital, and a variety of community-based service providers. we conducted dozens of stakeholder interviews, including a focus group at the respite center. we engaged closely with the department of public health throughout the process, checking assumptions and findings against the experience of our city partners. now, as the mayor said, the findings are in. we need to know the names and needs of everyone who is homeless with a behavioural healthcare need, provide wrap-around services that promote stabilization and a path to permanent housing, and ensure that systems and services proactively address and reduce disparities, especially among black and lgbtq individuals experiencing homelessness. tipping point's role going forward will be to fund the priority investments in the department of public health and the service community, while encouraging our philanthropic partners and peers to do the same. we are taking the first steps towards making this vision a reality. today we are

i'm also a pharmacy student from ucsf. currently i also intern at the santa clara hospital down in south bay. i have a lot of counselling sessions with the patients there. a lot of them are homeless and they end up being discharged back to the streets. beyond the counselling sessions, we also talk about -- go on tangents and about their personal lives. what i hear from patients they're struggling to access public washroom facilities, they're not clean or not accessible. a lot of them travel around the city as well. this is something i wanted to bring up because i wanted to bring attention to how feasible it is to increase access public washrooms in the city, that we're helping the homeless population to improve their health hygiene, but also to increase the cleanliness. i wanted to bring it up and see if it is feasible in the city budget. >> good evening, commissioners. my name is franceska okala and i am also a second-year pharmacy student at ucsf but also expressing some of my concerns. there was a bill signed into law t

ucsf, mission bay was wrapping up, and ideally those residents and workers, everything was timed perfectly when mission bay would be completed. those residents were transferred over to general hospital and building the new trauma center, so after that was nearing completion, those workers were ideally going to move right over to van ness gary, and there was about a year hold up. a lot of the residence, apprentices and even in the office workers, even had to go somewhere else and work for that year, and then be transferred over later. they were a hiccup or two on the front end of the project starting on times -- on time, and that threw a wrench in moving people from hospital to hospital, but let me also say this is a very important sector in our city. the healthcare industry -- when it is not there, you notice. and sometimes certain things can be taken for granted. we typically see commercial buildings, residential, retail, and hospitals are a completely different type of building. they are so much more complex, they are so much more technical. we are not just installing simple every day fe

i am currently the manager of the grounds for ucsf. i'm currently providing all the management plans that we have for the urban forest management that we put together a year ago. it was part of a community based plan we put altogether. it took about five years to put together. so what i'm offering is just -- i'm a forester, an arborist. i have a longer experience in professional tree care specialties, and what i'm offering is just -- i would like to have more connection between glen park, the urban forestry, and the city and really complete and finish that link and introduce a real green belt into the city, all interconnected with all trails and -- and all the latest trails. the ridge trails, for example. and i work at -- for the urban forestry and the community. yeah, that's all. and i work with actually the community and work actually to make things happen in this kind of environment is to have the community involved. so that's something that's -- that i believe that they help with friend of the urban forests, and all those other kin
