triple digit heat for ukiah and lake port. we'll be dealing with the haze with the temperatures well before average. 70s and 80s for the south bay. inland east bay even hotter, 90s to triple digit heat with that smoke into the 90s for the north bay with that smoke and still hazied to through the weekend along the cost. it's better sunday and especially for next week. let's check in with gianna. >>> trouble spot eastbound 80 and mcdonalds avenue. one of the vehicles, a larger truck, doesn't look like it's blocking lanes. it's moving at a nice pace. if you're taking westbound 80, everything is moving at the limit. if you're headed into richmond, we'll keep an eye on that. it's an easy ride so far. meetering lights are off and only seven minutes into san francisco. so definitely friday light at the bay bridge. the nimitz freeway, so far, so good. we haven't seen issues in the last hour. this is a live look near the oakland area. if you're headed south into hayward, traffic is moving nicely, so keep that in mind near the san mateo

clearlake and ukiah well above 100 degrees. no sign of monsoon moisture other than a few high clouds passing your way. thunderstorms will continue in the sierra. but we're going see some changes as the heat backs off a little bit. that strong high that brought heat up and down the west coast starts to get replaced by that trough of low pressure. showers too far north to help us out. but that's going trigger the stronger sea breeze monday to tuesday that leads to cooler temperatures. and any time we get cooler temperatures in that stronger sea breeze, it also means better air quality. so you can look forward to that as well. as the valleys begin to cool off, we'll see numbers inland and the 70s and 80s which should be good news for our air quality. i think you saw it towards the end of the smoke outlook that things were improving as we head towards monday. onshore winds should help us out the middle part of the week. >> we're about halfway through august, and things temperature-wise are pretty good. >> no signs of any significan

ukiah up to 88, and 59 in bodega bay. going into the rest of the week, there will be some more changes ahead. what's happening here changes in our air pressure. that means with high pressure moving in from the desert southwest, the air will be sinking. and with its clockwise wind flow around that is going to shift our winds from coming onshore to blowing offshore. when we get those onshore winds of course it heats up the temperatures for the inland areas. and then we're also going to see with a change in wind direction more smoke coming in. so the smoke from the fires that are just to the east of us will be right over the bay area by the end of the week. that's really going to cause some concerns as well as the heat. take a look at our ten-day forecast for ukiah. one of our spots that usually is pretty hot, let me show you how hot it's going to be this weekend. we go from about 90 today to some mid-90s on thursday, and then up to 105 degrees on saturday. that comes along with the high fire danger, very low humidity, and a

our north bay temperatures reaching into the mid-90s for ukiah, and sonoma, expect a high of 89 degrees temperatures come up, we'll also see more smoke. once again today it's not too bad for the coast and parts of the inner bay. moderate air quality for the north bay and then tomorrow the map turns red and that shows unhealthy air quality and a lot more smoke, and you will need to stay in this weekend and find fresh air. let's check out our inland spots. in an area like livermore where we have the hotter temperatures typically, we will head up into the 90s by tomorrow and then 101 by saturday. do plan on it being a hot weekend and we see the temperatures coming down a little more for the middle of next week. overall we look at an average of temperatures reaching into the upper 90s for spots like brentwood and gilroy and ukiah, and then next week heading back into the mid-80s while san francisco will see highs in the 70s. we will have a lot more smoke coming in, and that's going to be of concern. >>> heading over to you, mike, we are seeing so far smooth roads out there? >> yeah, getting

san francisco up to 71 in the mission district and 91 in novato, ukiah, 104 degrees. we've had some really hot temperatures for the inland areas and now we're getting ready to combine some humidity. this is the reason why we have two tropical systems, kevin and linda, that are out there in the pacific. well to the south of us. but what will happen with this high pressure over the desert southwest and its clockwise wind flow will draw in that tropical moisture and cause a surge of some monsoon moisture over the sierra. it could also develop some showers and thunderstorms. but the remnants from those tropical systems will be right over us over the next couple days. they're going to see some high clouds and it's going to feel muggy and watching out for a chance of thunderstorms there that could unfortunately spark some new fires. the humidity coming along with temperatures in the low to mid 90s. it's going to feel more like miami around the bay area. then as we go into the weekend, some upper 90s. there is no significant cool down here, but where you can find the natural
