you can see the rain moving up around eureka right now, and by the time it makes it to ukiah, it will be at 8:00 to 9:00, moving into santa rosa and napa with brief, heavy downpours. then it moves to san francisco, as well as the east bay. we can see the quick moving showers moving to san jose around midnight, moving out by 2:00 a.m. as we are looking at a small amount of rain. we're dealing with mudslides and trees that are very unstable, so any amount of rain could cause problems. we'll have flooding as a result of not rain, but king tides over the next few days. some of the low-lying coastal areas could see the king tide starting tomorrow and through the next five days. as far as our weather, things will be drying out. we'll head into an extended period of dry weather from thursday all the way through at least the middle of next week, as we can see those scattered showers moving through tonight and then we're back to some sunny, but also very chilly temperatures, maybe even freezing going into the weekend. so we'll continue to monitor all the impacts of this weather over the next f

tino of ukiah was reportedly swept off of that road and getting stuck in a flooded field in forestville. it's about 10 o'clock or so on tuesday that it happened. she called 9-1-1 for help. but then the call disconnected. and despite dispatchers best efforts to get first responders to the scene, they were unfortunately too late and unable to locate the underwater car until yesterday. >> the water had receded overnight and we were able to find her sadly, we found her in her car. she did not make >> officials say a tragic reminder just how dangerous it is to drive on flooded roads. it's the second storm related death. now the county in less than a week. a potentially dangerous dip in the road has forced the closure of a section of westbound highway 92 towards half moon bay, at least until further notice. take a look. we have video here, but the chp says this dip looks like it could become a sinkhole if the roadway state open. and that's the worry that could open up and swallow cars. this is just west of where 92 connects with highway 35 and skyline boulevard westbound lanes of 92 now close

moving up to ukiah and the light to moderate rain.espread heavy rain once again all across our area. that extends into sunday before it starts to break up a little bit. notice where we're still getting the rain, in the north bay. so that's going to be our focus. and then going into next week we'll start to see the next storm system come in. this is a look at how much rain we could see from an inch of rain in fremont to over 3 inches of rain in ukiah and there may be some spots over the hills that get even higher amounts of rainfall and that's the reason why we do have another flood watch that starts at 4:00 tomorrow morning and that has been extended until 4:00 p.m. on tuesday. a long period looking at flooding. for today the stage is at about 26 feet. it to reach near the moderate flood stage at 46.2 feet. the main areas that will be impacted, and then at that stage between sunday and monday the creekside resort flooding and the lowest lying parts of town could flood. in those areas you do need to be on high alert. and then we're alr

north bay we have slightly warmer temperatures in comparison, so sonoma reached 66 degrees, while ukiah is headed for 68 degrees. tonight, big dip in temperatures once again. we started out this morning cold and in some spots frosty. expect it to be the same tomorrow. 39 degrees in livermore and dublin and 41 in parts of the east bay. now, it's all clear, we've enjoyed sunshine, the dry weather continues for now. but then as we look down the line, there's a storm system developing and it's going to start to make its way a little closer to the bay area as high pressure moves away. that's going to make room for lows to bring in some colder temperatures and it looks like as of now the model is keeping a lot of that rain off the coast and also over toward the sierra. so the bay area may only see light amounts of scattered showers between late sunday into monday. and then a couple of days, the dry-out once again, but it will be chilly and there may be another system behind that that could move in for next weekend. the next ten days our rainfall totals may reach in some spots up to about a tr

officials identified the victim as daphne fun tino of ukiah. her car became submerged yesterday morning in a flooded area off trenton, hillsborough road in forestville. >> four's rob nesbitt tells us how it took search and rescue teams more than 20 hours to find her vehicle. of course, the sheriff's office daphne called 9-1-1 to let them know that she was stuck in her car and this water behind me. >> but it took nearly 24 hours before her body was found. it was just after 10:00am tuesday when noes call to 9-1-1. for help was disconnected. calls back from dispatch went unanswered. but her location in this flooded field and forest il was pinpointed, according to misty, would with the sonoma county sheriff's office that everybody was on scene pretty quickly. >> but by the time we arrived, we were able to see her car. we were able to find 2 helicopters, a marine unit, several deputies and the sonoma county fire district swift water rescue. >> still the area all day calling off the search when conditions became too dangerous. after dark. the search

our north bay temperatures reach 61 in sonoma and 58 degrees in ukiah. and let's check in with our water year because we're still at a big surplus. now after measuring 24 inches of rain we are still at a surplus of 7 1/2 inches. we're at a surplus and now double at 229% of what we typically see for rainfall at this point in oakland as well as much of the other parts of the bay area and the sierra still doing quite well with the snowpack at 246% of normal around the tahoe area. 283% of normal. we do continue with some dry weather, but we're about to see some changes. this high pressure will be shifting off to the east and rain will be here starting on sunday continuing into early next week with the possibility of another quarter inch of rain for the north bay and a half to three-quarters elsewhere. climate prediction center is saying we're about to head back into a wet period and there's a pretty good chance we could wrap up january and head into february with above average rainfall. so we're getting ready for those changes ahead. we have a few more days

officials say. 43 year old daphne fontina of ukiah called 911 on tuesday, saying she was stuck in her and flood waters near forest ville, and that water was up to the hood, with more coming in search teams went out to look for the car couldn't find it. dispatchers couldn't make a connection to her cell phone. they found the car yesterday morning. about 7 45. we were able to find the car was in about 8 to 10 ft. of water. it's our assumption at this point that the floodwaters were moving so fast and they were so deep that they swept her car away with her. sadly inside of it, officials remind everyone not to drive through standing water and say, turn around if you come to a flooded roadway. the hollister police department says mandatory evacuation orders have been lifted, but they weren't additional flooding is likely. the police department released this drone video showing extensive flooding north of hollister on monday. that's when san benito county issued an evacuation notice for the area. well there's still no signs of a missing five year old boy who was swept away by floodwaters al

and for the north bay as warm as 66 in ukiah and santa rosa. novato today 60 degrees.s going to be cold again tomorrow morning, dipping down into the upper 30s with fairfield at 36 degrees for a morning start and 41 in oakland. also 41 tomorrow morning in napa. so we've had dry weather. it continues as high pressure keeps it dry, but it's starting to move out of here. and we'll see an area of low pressure dipping down from saturday into monday and it's going to bring in some widespread rain, also more sierra snow, pushing down some very cold air that we'll see stay with us into tuesday as well as through the middle of next week p.m. now the rain outlook with that one system coming in looks a lot heavier for the sierra. around the bay area it looks more focused for the peninsula, the south bay as well as the east bay with a possibility of about a half to three-quarters of an inch of rain. maybe a lot less for the north bay. we'll continue to monitor that as we get closer. i just want to show you how cold it will be ahead so you do want to make sure you're taking it in,

look at santa rosa, ukiah 66 degrees. that's going to be nice but cold again tonight as we dip down into the upper 30s in the north bay. napa as well as hayward and fremont down to 41 degrees tomorrow morning. upper 30s for the south bay. the high pressure that's kept it dry and sunny is moving on and eventually it will make way for a cold front and an area of low pressure, more storm systems to dip down and bring us some rain starting on sunday and continuing into early monday. it looks like a decent amount of rainfall but then we go back to some dry weather and we'll see if that opens the door for more wane to come in over the next several days after that. but as far as initially how much rain we're expecting, parts of the north bay may see a lot less. the peninsula, south bay and the east bay could see about half an inch of rain or more. and it looks like definitely a lot heavier amounts of rain further off to the east. but let me show you how cold. once the system moves out of here, santa rosa taking in our temperatur

that woman, 43 year-old daphne from tino of ukiah was reportedly swept off the road as she got stuck in a flooded field. apparently enforced, fell around 10 o'clock on tuesday. she called 9-1-1 for help. but the call disconnected despite dispatchers best efforts to get first responders to the scene, they were too late and unable to locate the underwater car until today. >> the water had receded overnight and we were able to find her sadly, we found her in her car. she did not make it. officials say it's a tragic reminder of just how dangerous it is to drive on flooded roads. >> it is the second storm related death in the county in less than a week. >> you go down to the ft. >> it's dangerous work in the dark, far from their home base. in this new video tonight shows a swift water rescue in hollister. the oakland fire department stepping in to help after 2 people were trapped on top of their truck fast moving water moved in. this rescue happened about 11, 30 last night in house or just south of gilroy. oakland firefighters joining the rescue operation as part of the governor's office

you can see bull's-eye over ukiah, guerneville, santa rosa off the coast right there, bodega bay, redwoodula got hit hard with this last storm system. we could see that well through this weekend as well, and the santa cruz mountains, which could see upwards of 8 inches of rain, close to 10 as this storm system rolls on through this week. heavy, intense rainfall will last as we go into the early morning hours on sunday, and of course piling up all of that sierra snow as well. we're doing very well with this rain that we've gotten since the water year started. we're looking at surpluses in santa rosa, oakland, and down hear in san jose as well, and some good news that i have to share with you is that all of this rain is helping, not completely eliminating that drought, but it has erased some categories right there in the central valley. they were looking at that exceptional drought category. that is gone for the time being and we have definitely made improvements in the bay area as well. we've gone from severe to moderate categories. in santa clara, santa cruz and northern sonoma county. al
