. >> uma: now, at this hour we're just getting information that the deem and pass proposition is nowead. so that is not going to be happening according to urgent wires that we're getting from the senior house sources who are there on capitol hill at this hour. meanwhile, we're awaiting president obama's departure for capitol hill where at the top of the hour he plans to rally house democrats for one final health care push. white house correspondent wendell goler is joining us live now from the north lawn with more. wendell, we know this is going to be a kind of pep rally for the democrats. what do we expect the democrats to say to members just a half hour from now? >> well, we're told to expect a high energy speech that makes the case in no uncertain terms that now is the time to pass health care reform after a hundred years of trying. no one here is willing to give a vote count, but part of the reason is folks weren't quite sure how many yes votes they had absent the deem and pass mechanism. because of the possibility of avoiding deem and pass the political advantage of doing that a

this is uma and i want to bring in molly henneberg. she has been out with members of tea party who have been gathering outside capitol hill, thousands of people gathering today. there has been lots of interesting folks, lawmakers and relative of president obama. let's talk for a moment about the reaction and mood at this hour. >> reporter: let me show you what is going on. you see people walking, you swing around and show tea partyers have been rallying. they are now walking right back in front of the capitol. they just started this. we're catching it as it happens. these are members who have been rallying outside the capitol and then they went to lawmakers' offices and now they are walking in front of the capitol where they are holding up signs saying kill the bill. this is just happening right now. we're hearing right now that they may return later back for a candlelight vigil. uma, back to you. >> as you are hearing from the folks that a lot of people if this bill passes, elected officials are really going to find out what they mean

uma proud of where we've come and prouder still that we got here. in a truly bipartisan fashion. it's refreshing. it was quite wonderful. working with senators dorgan -- obviously senator hutchison being the key with senator dorgan, terrific chairman of the aviation subcommittee, absolutely tear rifnlgt and also senator demint towards a vibrant, strong aviation system so fundamental to our country. so i urge my colleagues to give the f.a.a. the tools, the resources, the direction, and the deadlines to make sure that the agency can provide effective oversight of the aviation industry. this is a big-ticket item. it appears not so dramatic, at s events of the recent days but over the course of our country, it is extraordinarily dramatic. so i will at the proper time urge my colleagues to support reauthorization. as i say, we've put this off now 11 different times. and this will last for two years after conference, maybe three years. i'd take more than that, myself. but we can't afford to wait any longer. i thank the chair and yield the floor. and i note the absence of a quorum. the
