on the campus of umass-dartmouth.has been talking to really stunned classmates. he's live in dartmouth, massachusetts, about 60 miles south of us. chris, what are you hearing this morning? >> well, john, students are telling us dzhokhar not only came back here to campus, he talked about the bombing. now, his friends tell us he didn't admit to being a part of it. but when they were talking about the attack, dzhokhar joined right in. a little more than 24 hours after video cameras captured him at the boston marathon, dzhokhar tsarnaev jumped back into campus life. seemingly unfazed, classmates say, by the terror attack he's accused of committing. >> i saw him tuesday. the day after, at the gym. >> reporter: he says dzhokhar was acting like he didn't have a care in the world. >> he seemed very nonchalant. he didn't seem like -- i mean like nervous or anything. >> reporter: dzhokhar worked out for awhile and didn't smie away when zack brought up the bombing. >> i was like, yeah, these things happen in other countries, may

the resident searched by the fbi is private off-campus housing for umass dartmouth students. while executing a search warrant in new bedford, massachusetts, this at a residence that is believed to have been affiliated with the suspect, 19-year-old dzhokhar tsarnaev, in the past, the fbi took three people, two males and a female, into custody for questioning friday evening, according to new bedford police. the residence searched by the private off-campus housing of three students. there have been questions throughout the day, i talked to chris lawrence about this, whether or not the suspect, dzhokhar, was actually living on the umass dartmouth campus or whether he was at this residence that was being searched throughout the day in cambridge. it doesn't seem like we really know one way or the other. >> we should be careful in the sense they have been taken in for questioning. they're going to retrace every step as they look through every e-mail, cell phone conversation, every place he's lived in recent years, friends, family members, they will question everybody. now we wait to

link in the forensic evidence, they say yesterday they went to dzhokhar tsarnaev's dorm room at the umass/dartmouth campus and found in his rooms bbs and a pyrotechnic device. i don't know if that means a big fire cracker. they found a black jacket and white hat similar to what's seen in the fbi photos that were released friday night of one of the two bombers. then finally, chris, there's a discussion that has new details about the carjacking. they say that one of the two brothers tapped on the window of a man's suv, he rolled it down. the person reached in, opened the door, pointed a gun at him and said, did you hear about the boston explosion? i did that. and according to the fbi document, the man showed that he had rounds in his gun and said, i'm serious. and then they drove away, tried to get money out of his atm and eventually stopped at a gas station when the carjack -- the owner of the carjacked car was able to escape, chris. >> well, what would the trial be about with this kind of evidence? i guess that would require some speculation. where are the holes in this chain of evidence?
