president-elect trump's efforts saved 800 jobs. 3 und hf mr. trump's 1100 jobs were never leaving the united states. and 550 carrier jobs are still heading to mexico. so let's talk. i'm joined by reed wilson, a national correspondent for the hill and rebecca berg a cnn political analyst and national political reporter for realclear politics. welcome to both of you. >> thanks, carol. >> okay. so reed, why go after chuck jones? >> well, this is donald trump's style, right? he goes after anybody that -- who attacks him personally, and this deal with carrier is something that has some holes in it. and has there's still questions to be answered about it. states make these deals a lot but they don't always -- the companies with which they make the deals don't always necessarily come through. in nevada a few years ago the state gave away about a billion dollars in tax incentives to tesla to build a big factory outside of reno and there was a report just yesterday in one of the las vegas papers that showed that tesla has not hired the number of people

and there are other people bidding on the same projects and unde settled doctrine, when you are underbidse of action. in 1990, a unanimous united states supreme court held that a wholesaler could sue under the commerce clause against a state agency that created unfair benefits for in-state competitors. and three years later under justice thomas, they said that companies and individuals who think they're being unfairly treated because they don't fit the minority that's getting a benefit can sue. so it's a principle established in 1990, by a unanimous court led by justice brennan, by a 7-2 court in 1993, so it's a pretty well-established principle. you can sue. >> do you see this as -- i know you think about these things strategically as well as legally. do you see this as the most direct legal remedy for the kinds of conflicts of interests that we've identified, is this the best way at it in terms of trying to remedy that kind of conflict? >> well, i think impeachment is the most direct. but it in terms of private ways, this is it. to see lots of individuals go after the enterprise, and i
