we are talking about an unhealthy air quality bay for the north bay and peninsula and today really onef those days where it's a catch-22 you want to be outside and enjoying the weather but we've got unhealthy air to deal with. we're waking up to beautiful clear skies. this is a spectacular look that we're taking across the bay area. you can see off in the distance the hazy particulates sitting in the lower atmosphere. kind of the deirty look along te mountainside. the temperatures will be very warm today. in fact, we're talking about highs today that will be back into the low and mid-70s. this is record-setting territory even to get back into the 70s this time of year. so what we're going to be looking at is the temperatures back in the 70s for the most part. increased fire danger and poor air quality will be with us once again for today and also for tomorrow. here's the thing as we head through the upcoming week it doesn't look like there's any rain in the forecast. the microclimate forecast shows that temperatures will be back in the low to mid-70s for the north bay and east bay and

sugar, i think most people would find that to be pretty compulsive and not to mention in incredibly unhealthy. it's such a useful sight in terms of the sizes and the sugar and not because of the reaction some of us might have but it shows why sugary beverages are so different even in sugary foods. sometimes what we hear from the beverage industry why are you posting a tax on sugary beverages? why not donuts and cookies. we know that eating a cookie or cake, it eventually shuts off your appetite. but just the shear amount of sugar rushing your system quickly in quantities that it's going to be very hard to get from even a cake or a cookie, it's really extraordinary and it's why sugary beverages are a health detriment that is very different and above and beyond the health detriment from sugary foods. i think this chart showing the difference sizes is very instructive. going back to the 1960s and 70s just the sizes of the sugary drink containers, the size was so much smaller and it's gotten bigger and bigger. in richmond one of the biggest oh opponents of the sugar and beverages tax was the movi

so the pollutants getting trapped down below keeping the air unhealthy. this is going to be the major weather story over the next couple of days. we have a good storm system on the eastern seaboard. you have a lot of subtropical moisture making its way up from the south, cold air from canada, the two combining and we are starting to see snow into parts of the northeast. in fact, we have some pictures now of gillette stadium. they are getting the snow there already. and there's plenty more to come. in fact, some of these places overnight tonight and into tomorrow could see some very impressive amounts of snow. in fact, in the boston area, maybe upwards of 12 inches of snow. some places maybe even a little bit more. so all the way along parts of the northeast you will see some heavy snow even maybe as much as 10" into new york city. that would be something else. all right. back here in the bay area, we are far away from thinking about snow. about 67 degrees in morgan hill. 66 in san jose. about 67 in redwood city. and 63 degrees in half moon bay. east bay t
