unhealthy air quality for east bay and santa claire valley area. the futurecast shows the fog staying stacked up along the coast and sun later in the day but for the most part the coastal clouds around for most of the day. an area of high pressure is taking over and helping us keep us nice and warm for the rest of the weekend. heading into the workweek we have a shift in the weather pattern and cooler temperatures are coming. for today low clouds and fog near the coast and warm for folks near the inn land and milder monday through mid-week before we warm once again. temperatures forecast for today. 70s around the bay today, near 80 in mountain view. 84 in san jose. warmest spot is in the east bay and warming up to mid-90s for some areas. santa rosa at 86 and 70 in san francisco. heading out on the ballpark. a's first pitch 1:05 upper 60s there. 76 your high in burlg game today and as we -- burlingame today. i anticipate clouds sticking around for much of the day. and low clouds and cool for the stern grove festival. 60 on that side of the city. the

officials with the bay area air quality management district say the south bay is experiencing the most unhealthy air because of all the air pollution from people on the roads. it's the smog plus the smoke from fires in california, oregon and canada that makes the skies to hazy. many people in lafayette spent the day taking advantage of the warm weather - but officials advise people to stay indoors especially is you smell smoke in the air. the air quality is mostly harmful to children and seniors.these unhealthy and moderate levels can cause throat irritation, congestion, chest pain and it can trigger asthma.that's why judy sandberg takes measures to protect her family.<"i try to keep the kids inside a little bit more, but they still have their sports so they're still doing them. try to keep them in a bit more. not leaving the windows open. using the air conditioning, which doesn't overall, but keeps it from getting worse inside.">air quality officials ask you to not add to the pollution and instead carpool or take public transportation. wood burning is not banned today but it is highly discouraged.
