(justine) tragedy for a family in the east bay. a toddler was killed after he was run over by a car in the parking lot at shopping center. this happened yesterday afternoon at the shopping center off decoto and alvarado-niles roads in union city. police say the 23-month-old boy darted away from his parents who were shopping in a store... and ran into the parking lot. that is when a slow moving car hit the boy. he became trapped underneath it. the driver is cooperating with the investigation. this appears to police to be a tragic accident. we now know the name of the man found dead on the oakland waterfront. police have identified the victim as kevin mulholland of alameda. the 48-year-old's body was found around eight friday morning beneath a pier near the embarcadero. it is unclear how mulholland ended up there. but officers say there were no obvious signs of foul play. an autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.
