when you show the pictures like at union square or at washington square, and those are the single ones that are getting replaced, they are not nearly as impactful as these. and then i really question at the civic centre all of a sudden , you are getting a huge blockage of the building behind and to the new cafÉ that is there that will be blocked by it i understand it on the civic centre because there are a lot of people there. but somehow, i don't know. i just know you probably have done studies and their reasons why that there's more people therefore you have doubles, i mean, it seems enormous to me. in terms of its historic placement in historic locations, it is substantially -- substantially impactful. i am wondering if there's any way to make it shorter. obviously the height of people haven't changed and the height of the bathroom is the same. so there's a lot of dead space up there. it is very tall. and number 2, i love the design overall. i think all of that is great. i love the materials you have suggested and the concrete base with a stainless steel. it is great. and all of tho

and just look at union square and look at the impact of construction for a few years and what it's done to the businesses. so i think we should look at that and see what the cost implications are. with respect to the public park at taylor and jefferson. if i heard right, the public said that we'll use it as a park and sometimes for parking. why would we do that? it makes no sense to me to do that. and i would start by saying, find me any other park in san francisco that turns into a parking lot part time. enough money to also after paying their rent go buy food, go to the movies, go shopping, go down union square, and so in order for this city to function, we have to take care of our residents, take care of our businesses, and give the tools that enable them to succeed. i think time, time within the work day has a lot to do with this also. i think we'd all like to have enough full-time to go walk around, go have a sit-down meal, and then, you know, leisurely stroll back to work. in the construction field you only get a half-hour lunch, so a lot of times people don't have time to go out and find a sit-down restaurant that's maybe not busy enough for them to have a quick meal and get back to work before it's time. i do think we should do as much as we can to encourage within the cafeterias the use of local businesses, local suppliers, and especially the local residents, paying them a good wage. i'd really like to see maybe some more information on the wages that some of these restaurants are paying their workers compared to maybe what the workers in the cafeterias are making, and then we can kin
