this is a united airlines flight from new orleans. it was heading to san francisco, but it returned to new orleans airport just a couple of minutes after taking off. there was some light white smoke coming from the engine of this plane. now they say the plane was rocking back and forth in very strong windy weather and never really gained much altitude. now this was flight 497. and they're telling us as soon as it was back on the ground the flight attendants started shouting leave everything, get out, get out. it was actually an associated press reporter on that flight. and said passengers -- the reporter said we're looking at people the door is open. it looks like some of the luggage is coming off right now. but that reporter that was on the flight said that passengers slid down the front and backslides. there's the front slide right there. reportedly there was no announcement over the overhead speakers. no interior lights or seat belt announcements were turned on. but, again, this was a flight that was going from new orleans to san f
