you see it down 67 points led by some of the airlines, united, continental and delta are trading lowerthis hour. evenly though some of the high profile averages today are higher, transports are not participating here. >> bill, thank you. i'm on the floor with half hour to go. joined with alan valdez, it's not just oil is lower but transports are down 66 and industrials up 102. what's going on with this market? >> a lot has to do with the jobs number today. they are looking at that, the transports and oils. but basically there's no volume. it's just a sector to be in today and that's where the traders are today, there's nothing going on. >> why? we have the jobs report, shouldn't that be the catalyst? >> it's going to look like a great jobs report but manufacturing off 25,000 jobs and service industry still second in command. they are not great jobs but the headline news is going to be good jobs out there. >> do people feel it's going to be more of the same from the fed, that this report doesn't change anything? why do you think they are on the sidelines. >> they are, there's no volume.

i don't think that they really were seeking to get acquired like united and continental damper that was just reduced capacity. >> alaska, with his dell, has a lot more slots in big states, california, texas, new york. if i'm an investor with alaska, and i look at that price tag 2.6 billion, did alaska overpay for virgin? >> well, the good news about the payment, as they stopped other people from putting in a bed. there was speculation that jetblue wanted to put a bid in also. alaska put in such a high bed because i wanted they wanted to scare off and stop a bidding war. only 25% of all mergers and acquisitions achieve their financial objectives. if i was in alaska airlines and shareholder, yes sir, i would be worried >> let's talk about passengers, what does this mean for people who fly the combined airline, i read, will have 1200 daily departures, aircraft hubs in seattle, san francisco, los angeles, alaska and portland, oregon. to me, if you crunching the numbers of sounds like good news for passengers? >> not so good news for passengers. there will be more service, that is true. but

united states this should not be that concerning. we do not have local transmission here. i think the idea about people in the continental united states delaying pregnancy is not even an issue for discussion at this point. the issue is when you're dealing in countries in which you have outbreaks like in south america, particularly brazil or puerto rico, is a concern about what you might advice women. right now the recommendation from the cdc of consulting your physician about the kinds of options you might have. but a direct recommendation to delay has been given by countries, for example, el salvador has actually said you should delay if you could. the confounding issue about that, that's in countries in which you may not have good access to birth control and that's one of the things that con foundz confounds that condition. >> if we see localize the outbreaks in the united states besides birth control, what can men and women do to protect themselves? >> that's a great question. mosquitos and can you do that, the government and local authorities can do it by cleaning up the environment to not allow mosquitos to breed. t
