my family, some colleagues and i were originally going to take the asiana flight that just crash handed. we switched to united so we could use mile for my family's tickets. our flights were scheduled to go come in at the same time but we were early and landed 20 minutes before the flight. our friend david is on the flight. we've been hearing from david on twitter. he is encouraging people not to call him. he said that he is all right. he explains that a lot of the passengers were calm and that it reminded him of 9/11. so that is how traumatic this really was for people on board. we are getting some updates from ems and fire officials saying about 75 trans ports still. we are not hearing any specific information about the injured or possible fatalities. hopefully we'll hear a little more about the passengers' conditions when we heard from authorities at a press conference coming up from san francisco in a little while. but again, we are hearing very conflicting information about the amount of casualties -- theal of injuries, i should say. we're not hearing any specific information about casualties. hopefully i

the plane flipped over and skidded down the runway on its back and missed a united flight waiting to take off. somehow the crew deplayed emergency chute ands many people were seen scrambled to safety. dozens needed treatment for smoke and fire injuries. we are told that the pilot did not make any distress call before landing. federal agents have come out to say it was not a case of terrorism, but it was a te a terrifying day. the airport is slowly starting to resoum operations. this is one of the biggest airports in the world. closed many hours and forcing flights to divert to los angeles. you can bet, it will take a long time for all of the flight schedules to return to normal a witness on a smaller plane that had just landed before the crash happen. they were kept on that plane for at least an hour and unable to get off and go into the airport there. i can see you are standing inside of the airport. were you able to speak to the witnesses or anybody that saw the crash? >> the closure of the airport meant for a lot of traffic, getting to the airport. by the time the crew and i a rat

generally you want to hit the end of that runway, you want to come in just like this united airlines flight is coming in right now. you want to come in at about 137 knots and notice that he is touching down almost where the remains of flight 214 are right now. they were coming in at 103 knots. not 137 knots. 103 was their lowest speed just seconds before they hit the end of the pier here. when they hit the sea barrier wall. so the question investigators are asking is, how could that happen? generally the co-pilot is supposed to be watching the air speed and the descent rate. was it one captain thinking the other one was watching the air speed and the other thinking the other one had it in there's question about that. they're interviewing the crew in korean and english. there's another tragic twist to the whole story. that is as firefighters responded with a full emergency response on saturday, the fire department says it now believes one of its responding rigs accidentally hit one of those two girls that was out on the runway. one of the two teenagers who died. did that cause her death? the
