my dad was a united mine worker for 37 years. and any time a disaster like this happens, it hits close to home, because basically everyone i grew up with and everyone i knew were coal miners. so with that, i'm interested in finding out, it says the internal review the abatement time for the one respirable was 30 days when the allowable was 7 days. why was msha setting deadlines weeks beyond what was allowed? i think one of the things that we found from the internal review was two things. one is that the mining company was abusing the system, and that we were not doing enough to keep up with the system. and some of those delays, i don't think, should have been in place. i think that there was extensions.
