secretary general of the united nations. your excellency, madam and government, excellencies, ladies and gentlemen. our world is suffering from a bad case of trust deficit disorder. people are feeling troubled and insecure. trust is at the breaking point .or our national institutions within countries, people are losing faith in political establishments. populism is on the rise. among countries, cooperation is less certain and more difficult, trust in global governance is fragile as 21st century challenges outpace 20th-century institutions and mindsets. we have never had a true system of global governance, much less a fully democratic one. weoss many decades, established solid foundations for international cooperation. they came together as united nations to build institutions and rules to advance our shared interests. we forged piece in troubled the thirdavoided world war. none of these can be taken for granted. today, world order is increasingly chaotic and foreign relations are less clear. universal values are being eroded

between the united nations and regional organizations. and here i would like to refer to the very successful experiment because of the cooperation between the african union and the united nations as a model to be followed. and to use the comparative advantage of those started. to deal with the serious challenges in our region which is the main aim of the united nations to preserve peace and. aid. for development egypt is about to assume the presidency of the african union in twenty nine and we look forward to strengthening the strategic partnership between the union and the united nations through programs that have a real impact on the continent and building on the progress made to consolidate. the policy of the african union come for critical structure and development. this is in addition to egypt's hosting of the african union center for post conflict reconstruction development and the community of foreign states counterterrorism center second we need to continue our efforts to implement the initiative launched by egypt during the membe
