how to stop this trend where now every 2 weeks there is one after shooter at least one in the united states mary i'm speaking about this story as it was breaking just yesterday heidi us talking about the legislation that is set to come into effect that essentially strengthens the rights of gun owners to be able to carry their arms. i suppose this latest shooting isn't likely to to change the somewhat relaxed gun laws in texas. that's right and it's important to point out that we're speaking specifically of texas there been other states that have restricted gun violence gun access as of late but ironically today in texas as of midnight september 1st a spate of new state laws took effect that actually made it easier for a person to take guns into school parking lots into rental properties and into houses of worship.

every year the united states mari--marine corps band comes o. we would like to show support for that tribute concert. we are going to bring a 40 piece marine corps band to city hall on thursday, the 11th, for a half hour lunch concert. when you feel the walls shaking here, you know what is happening. it is not the airshow, just the band. we are doing things like that. also this year on pier 30-32 where the flagship is tied up, on friday, october 11th, we are going to do a welcome hero's concert at the pier. i can't tell you elaine your staff is fabulous to get this organized. there will be a food truck jamboree, a lot of interactive displays and concerts. the friday concert is welcome heroes 5:00 to 9:00. we would love to get as many community members out to that as well. on saturday and sunday that pier is activated for fleet fest. the last time a ship like this came in there were 17,000 visitors over the weekend. now there is something to do out at the pier other than standing in line and waiting in the sun. if you go to the website, you can s
